Very few brands have the range of music products that can match the offerings from Yamaha. Over the past several decades, they have expanded their range of offerings to cover almost every type of potential customer.
Here we will have a look at the range of Yamaha upright pianos and as you can see it is indeed very impressive, considering that they have digital, acoustic and hybrid pianos.
Acoustic & Hybrid
Yamaha also has an exciting line of acoustic and hybrid upright pianos.
Even though Yamaha is a Japanese company and most of the parts and know how is from Japan, it does use a lot of local components and use local designers, technicians and artisans if it is making pianos to cater to any specific market.
Yamaha denotes their various products using letters that signify what category and which country / continent they are targeting. For instance, the Yamaha SE series means the technology is based on Yamaha’s S class concert pianos, which signifies it is a premium product and the E stands for Europe which means they intend to target the European market for these products. Again, these are guidelines and they could use a different letter to denote Europe.
Hybrid Piano
Yamaha also makes hybrid pianos which uses a combination of components from a real acoustic piano and a digital piano.
For instance the NU1 series pianos use components from a real acoustic upright piano, such as the action mechanism and the keys. The sound comes from a tone generator as in a digital piano. In the AvantGrand series, the action mechanism of a real grand piano is used.
