So, in case you were thinking of buying a Clavinova piano but find the cost prohibitive, you should definitely consider the Yamaha YDP-184 as Yamaha has used most features from the Clavinova series, in particular their CLP-635 model.

Detailed Review
If you always have practiced on a traditional acoustic piano and want to switch over to a digital one, yet want to retain that feel and sound of the acoustic one, this one is a nice option. In fact, you won’t see much of a difference after the transition because of its true piano sound and feel.
This is a great piano for beginning students and for experienced players who are looking for a practice piano.
- Great sounds, including concert grand piano. Damper Resonance samples provide rich and broadening tones while pedaling. Damper pedal includes a half-damper effect (for better expressive control).
- Graded Hammer Keyboard: Lower notes have heavier touch, higher ones are more responsive. Easy to play repetitive fast single notes with perfect articulation. Matte finish of the black keys makes the keyboard look luxurious.
- Variable Touch Sensitivity: You can choose from hard, medium or soft setting to suit your playing style or finger strength. You can even turn off sensitivity (ideal when playing the organ).
- Song recorder for capturing original musical ideas or performances (great for practicing). You can change tempo or Voices after you’ve recorded your performance. Built-in metronome helps stay in time. You can easily store the recorded songs on a flash drive using the USB port, and then transfer your files to your computer.
- 250 Preset Piano Songs: Many of them are classical piano pieces. Great for listening pleasure or for reference.
