There are so few “perfect” recordings of classical music in this world, but this one is definitely one of them.
Christoph Eschenbach is a sensitive & warm musician, and sadly for his fans, he rarely records nowadays, preferring the conductor’s baton. In this case, Eschenbach plays a magnificent Mozart set.
This is the purest form of music coming from the pianos without any interference from background concert music; its Mozart at his best.
Overall, a great set of masterpieces from one of the most famous composers of all time. A great set of Mozart piano sonatas, next to the Mitsuko Uchida collection from Philips. The inclusion of K. 46d and 46e. is a nice bonus.
Not only is the performance great, the recording of the music itself is crystal clear. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Mozart.
