Moog Music EP3 Expression Pedal: The Moog Music EP3 Expression Pedal is a foot pedal that allows you to be a bit creative with it.
Though originally made to improve the expressive capabilities of the Little Phatty, Minimoog Voyager and Moogerfoogers, this pedal works fine with other keyboards (from M-Audio and Roland as well.)
- Pros: Solid build, responsive, cord is detachable (makes it easy to store), compatible with most effects, priced right
- Cons: Beginners may find it difficult to use (because of the height)
- Use it for performances, home or professional recording,
Its a universal pedal that can connect to any keyboard, synthesizer or pedal that has an expression pedal jack or CV input. The main feature on the Moog EP3 is the new external output level control which allows you to adjust the range of the pedals effect.
Though it is a Moog, the overall product could have been a bit more solid. It is made up of plastic and uses a hard-wired cable so may not stand up well to the rigors of a touring band! Nevertheless, for home or studio use, it does the intended job quite well.
- Perfect weight & balance
- Good build quality (metal and plastic)
- Universal expression pedal, has a switch that makes it work with non-Moog products as well
- Conveniently allows adjustments for both polarity and range
- Has a scalable output knob for specifying musical range
- Comes with a 1/4″ output jack on the front panel. You may connect the the supplied 6.5′ cable, or select a different cable length of your choice
Got an expression pedal jack or CV input on your keyboard, synthesizer or pedal? With switchable polarity, Moog’s smooth EP-3 pedal fits just about any rig. Its definitely one of the best expression pedals available on the market.
