Korg recently introduced the Korg D1 digital piano, a mid-range portable stage piano. Its a lightweight (no speakers) piano that you can use for daily practice or even for performing live (though its more for practicing at home). The Korg D1 comes with RH3 key action (found on the more expensive Korg keyboards) and its very compact in size (doesn’t have speakers). Korg D1 Digital Piano: Review
The Korg D1 seems to be a nice piano if your focus is more on the action, and if you want the piano to be compact in size.
How is the action?
The keyboard employs RH3 (Real Weighted Hammer Action) keyboard that simulates the action of a grand piano (heavier in the bass and lighter in the higher octaves).
What are the sounds like?
You get Concert Piano, Grand Piano, Jazz Piano, electric/electronic piano and other sounds (total of 30 expressive sounds).
The piano also offers:
Damper Resonance: Simulates the vibration of the strings when an acoustic piano’s damper pedal is held.
Key-Off Simulation: Simulates the reverberations produced depending on the speed at which a player releases his/her fingers after touching the keys.

Competition Check
The Korg D1 looks more like the Korg LP-380 (minus the stand, speakers and pedals), which is available for cheaper. So if you want a piano for home use, you may consider the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00CC72LRY” locale=”US” tag=”keytarhq04-20″ cart=”n”]Korg LP-380[/easyazon_link].
[easyazon_link identifier=”B003H94ZYI” locale=”US” tag=”keytarhq04-20″ cart=”n”]Studiologic Numa Stage[/easyazon_link] is also a good option. It is lighter, features grade hammer action keyboard, has good sounds, customization options, USB and midi connectivity and pitch+mod wheels for controller action.
