Hanon: The virtuoso pianist in sixty exercises is a great technical book for improving the dexterity of your fingers. Its great for beginners to get your fingers moving on the piano keys. If you’re taking piano lessons from a private piano teacher, chances are that you’ve already seen this book in your music teacher’s library. The book has exercises designed to instill independence and flexibility in the fingers, and for strengthening hands and fingers in general. Piano Finger Exercises for Beginners
When I started taking piano lessons, for the first few months, my piano teacher used to give us finger exercises, which I would practice at home. A few months later she started showing us the piano books which she had in her library, and one of those books was Hanon.
I requested her to lend me that book for a few days, but she said that I wasn’t ready yet. A couple of weeks later, she did give it to me, and yes, I wasn’t ready for most of the exercises. I did start on some though, and for the next year or so, most of my practice time (for finger exercises) would be from this book (she also had the Czerny book for piano technique, but I never attempted it).
Hanon books are recommended by teachers because it serves as great Piano Finger Exercises, it helps improve piano dexterity, which is so much important for beginners, who most of the time wonder how experienced players are able to move so fast on the keyboard.

For Piano Players of All skill Levels
And its not just for beginners, Hanon piano exercises serve as great warm-up for the experienced players as well. Hanon finger exercises are known to improve technical skill, speed and precision stretching.
If you’re learning to play the piano on your own, I would like to remind you that most piano teachers recommend using the Hanon piano exercises on a daily basis (for a few minutes atleast). This will help your fingers become stronger and far more adept.
