The Korg M50 Workstation is a serious workstation from Korg that is priced well within the reach of the working musician, yet delivers incredible sounds and a great playing experience.Pros
Rich sounds, Excellent for the PriceCons
No built-in speakersThe Korg M50 workstation is apt for working musicians on a stretched budget. A small investment that will pay you back many times in terms of inspiration, fun, self expression and lots of great music.
This workstation from Korg excels in many different roles! Be it the recording studio, stage or home, you can depend on the Korg M50 to deliver every time and everywhere.
Another point in its favor is its cost; it is extremely difficult to find a workstation that delivers all these features at a price of around 1200 bucks.
When it was launched, there were many who were trying to compare it with the likes of the Yamaha Motif, and obviously the Motif XS had some amazing sounds, it was about three times more expensive.
And that is why the target audience of the M50 is the working musician on a budget. And it still has some excellent drums and beats, piano patches, and effects. Not really mind-boggling, but it does get the job done.
This other popular products around this price range are the Korg PA-50, Yamaha MOX 6 and the Roland GW-7, but they’re made of arrangers where this is a budget workstation.
If you are a non-piano player, you’ll find the M50 easy to use and you can get some great sounds out of it in no time. The combi-mode is quite powerful and you can get immense soundscapes with it.
If you are a Korg fan and have a bigger budget, then you might want to consider the M3.
The Korg M50 is available in three sizes:
Korg m50 61 – 61 key great feeling semi-weighted keyboard
korg m50 73 – 73 key semi-weighted keyboard
korg m50 88 – 88 graded hammer action piano keysSpecs
Here are the salient features of the Korg M50 Workstation.

The Korg X50 61 Key Music Synthesizer Keyboard is apt for home based studios, as well as for onstage performances.
The sound is absolutely stunning anyways, it uses the same engine as some of the top Korg keyboard workstations.
The keys of Korg X50 61 Key Music Synthesizer Keyboard are synth style plastic keys, NOT weighted ones so if you have been used to playing piano, you need to keep that in mind.
Price-wise this is inexpensive compared to some of the front line Korg synth keyboards. That’s because it is less customizable. The editing, customizing features are not as easy as on the top workstation keyboards including the Triton.
But the voices are just stunning. The acoustic instrument section, especially the Piano, Organ, Flutes, and strings voices are particularly strong. So if you intend to use classical sounds in your compositions, you will be more than pleased.
The Korg X50 is portable and sturdy. It will be great for gigs as well, besides for studio use.
Overall, it’s a great synthesizer keyboard, considering the price and the voices that are available (I think they are worth a lot more).
I strongly recommend the Korg X50 61 Key Music Synthesizer Keyboard.
I bought a Korg X-50 synthesizer keyboard because I wanted the great sounds of a Korg Triton, without having to burn a hole in my pocket.
The programs and combis in this Korg synth are just out of the world. If you have experiencing in voicing, then you will find the piano, strings, guitar sounds very impressive.
The Korg X-50 synth keyboard can be quite handy for a live performance as well. The knobs are convenient to use and you can do all the adjustments needed for a live performance by using the standard programming.
If you want something better, you will have to go in for the Korg M50 workstation which has some killer sounds, 16-track sequencer, touch screen, etc., but it is priced around $1000.
On the other hand, Korg X-50 synthesizer keyboard continues to sell for cheap, which I think, is a great deal.
