A soft, beautiful, elegant, and relaxing piano music is just what you need as the night draws in. If you’ve had an extremely busy day, here’s what you need to hear in order to relax. Chopin wrote 21 nocturnes in all, each showcasing his gift for melody and evoking the beauty of nighttime.
Between 1830 and 1832, famous Polish composer and virtuoso pianist Frederic Chopin composed The Nocturnes, Op. 9, a set of three nocturnes, and dedicated to Madame Camille Pleyel. The work was published in 1833.
Over time, these compositions have more or less become obligatory repertoire items for pianists, with the Nocturne no. 2 becoming one of Chopin’s most popular pieces, if not the most popular.
The Nocturne no. 2 in E flat major, features a more peaceful melody that is replayed a number of times, albeit with more ornamentation in each iteration.

The Nocturne no. 1 in B flat minor, features a rhythmically free right-hand melody (characteristic of Chopin’s later style.)
It is one of the most popular nocturnes; it instantly catches the ear. It sounds simple yet it touches you without needing to know anything about the music.
