Casio PRIVCASE Privia Case: Review
If you own a Casio piano (or any other keyboard), you should ensure it is well protected. Elements like dust, moisture etc could easily damage your precious musical instrument. And if you wish to carry it to another place, you need a good case for it.
Here are top reasons why you should consider the Casio PRIVCASE Privia Case for your piano keyboard.
- Looks slim (not at all bulky)
- It not only protects your Casio piano but also has handles and a shoulder strap that makes it easy for you to carry it around from one place to another.
- It has enough storage space for cables, and small accessories as well. The pockets are big enough for a large pedal, power cord, heavy duty extension cord and 1/4″ cables.
- The pockets won’t fit the music holder, the music holder has to be laid on top of the keyboard.
- You can use this case for keyboards from other brands as well (provided it fit the dimensions).
Straps, Pockets, Padding
The handles and shoulder strap makes it convenient to carry around.
It comes with pockets to keep things like sheet music, cords, pencils (the pockets are not very roomy though)
It offers adequate padding (its basic, but for the price its good)
Compatibility
This case is compatible with all the portable Privia pianos – PX-150, PX-160, PX-350, PX-360, PX-3, PX-500L digital pianos.
Even though this case is designed for the priva pianos, it also works with other portable pianos. The PRIVCASE is known to work with Yamaha NP pianos, Casio CDP 120 digital piano, Kawai ES110 digital piano, Yamaha P105B portable piano, Roland FP-3 piano.
Note: Do compare the dimensions before making a purchase (in case you intend to use it for another brand keyboard piano).
Provides Basic Protection Only
This case is great for providing basic protection to your keyboard and makes it easy to carry the board around (without worrying about damaging it). You can checkout other Keyboard gig bags here.
While this gig bag is good for transporting (occasionally cart around), for tours/gigs, you should serious consider semi-rigid cases (Gator) with wheels, or a hard case (SKB) – which are more expensive options (around 3-4 times more expensive). However, be wary of buying cheap rigid cases with wheels as they are of poor quality and a waste of money.
However, if you’re not going on tour and your keyboard instrument is not going to be thrown in and out of a trailer, plane, or some vehicle, this Casio PRIVCASE Privia Case/gig bag is all that you need for your Casio piano keyboard. It’s not super-protective, but will prevent the keyboard from getting banged around while going in and out of the trunk or back seat.

Looking at the specs of this case it says it is a few inches smaller than the PX-160. Doe’s that make any difference or does the case stretch to fit? is there any other case that will fit the PX-160?

Privia gig bag (PERFECT)
Borrowed a Privia keyboard from a friend of mine, who is a former band player, before embarking on a tour of UK. Used the Privia for small groups.
I found out that my friend was still keeping the keyboard in the original box. So, bought this gig bag for him, least I could do in return for 1 month on the road all over the UK (England, Scotland & Wales). Thanks for your continued friendship & service!
