Mstislav Rostropovich & Rudolf Serkin are just fantastic on their instruments, though the recording recording does give slight prominence to the cello of Rostropovich ahead of the piano; however, the music doesn’t drown the piano all together.
The playing is sensitive and full of life, the way these two players have played clearly demonstrates their maturity in age, understanding and experience.
