With smartphones and tablets becoming widespread, you now have one more method to learn to play the piano/keyboard, and that is using apps.

The good thing is that most beginner music keyboards give you access to learning app that comes with several beginner lessons and songs for you to practice.

This is in addition to the lessons and sons that are built-in to the piano (however the ones on the apps are more fun to use, because of the bigger screen).

And if its on your smartphone, you can always go through the lessons while commuting and use that time constructively (using your headphones or without it).

You can even use the keyboard to play other instruments, you can combine/layer instruments, you can split the keyboard to play bass (or any other instrument) with your left hand and (or any other instrument) piano on the right hand.
