September first marks the beginning of National Piano Month, a month to celebrate everything piano and music-related. Observed since 1991, to celebrate the Piano Month, several piano teachers and their students plan special performances.
September is the month to celebrate the instrument that continues to be classical yet contemporary at the same time. One of the most technically advanced musical instruments to have ever been invented, the instrument has contributed a lot to the development of music over the last few centuries, and still continues to play a key role in modern music.

Music clubs, performance centers, piano stores, associations, bands will be celebrating all month long with entertainment and specials around the piano.
The piano is known as the “King of the Instruments” because its range goes lower than the bottom 16 foot pedal note of an organ to the highest note that you can play on a piccolo.

I am a Brisbane based piano lessons teacher, and i think its great that the piano gets recognised in September. Looking back at the ways in which the piano has shaped the music industry makes me proud to be teaching the next generation of pianists. Thanks
